Fear vs. Change

“Fear is the worst enemy of change and the best friend of mediocrity. Therefore, fear and change can never reside in the same space. A common factor that is keeping most people from realizing their dreams is the fear of change and the uncertainty of the unknown. All you have to do is believe in yourself, step out on faith and do the work, if there is something in your life that you want to change."

ursula K. Le Guin's call to action for authors

What an incredible perspective on the craft of writing by such a legend. Her speech really inspired me, because too many people today focus on the monetary/material reward than the actual crafts. As a result, many writers are forced to write for sales results instead of from their hearts. This is very common in the music and other industries designed for entertaining. I hope this creative genuis will be a constant reminder and inspiration to me, as I pursue my lifelong passion of becoming a writer and storyteller.
